2 River 2 day Expedition

Just Send it ! 2 day of whiterwater in tropical rainforest

Are you ready for a UNIQUE adventure? Our 2 day, 2 River overnight whitewater rafting trip here from Manuel Antonio is a true trip of a lifetime for those of you looking for something different, getting off of the beaten track and riding a white water playground.

This 2 day overnight rafting trip and adventure will begin with a transfer from Manuel Antonio to San Isidro de el General, the most important town on the southern Interamerican highway, located on the southern slope of the Chirripo National Park.

A commercial center of coffee farms, cattle ranches and plant nurseries. We will drive east to “El Llano”, a small town in the middle of the mountains where our white water adventure will begin. After a safety talk by one of our professional bilingual guides we will start running continuous class III and IV rapids on the Division river, the main tributary to the Savegre river, one of the most pristine rivers in the country surrounded by impressive views of primary forest.

Carving its way through rainforest covered valleys, the Savegre is an amazingly beautiful river. s.The trip will continue through one of the most remote canyons on the Savegre river passing rapids like “Cinderella” and “Malibu” waterfall stop and swimmimg are part of the amazing section.

After a short shuttle we arrive at our mountain lodge and spice farm, “Finca Agua Blanca” Place where we will spend the night, chill after a long day of whitewater and have meals. Guides and guests will cook and han out by the camp fire., sleep in luxury safari tents with shared restrooms and showers.,. You’ll see fascinating wildlife, breathtaking scenery , relax and take in the local culture. At our jungle home you can fish, hike to a waterfall, or just laze in a hammock. We’ll prepare a sumptuous dinner before turning in for the night listening to the sound of the jungle.

A traditional Tico breakfast the next morning is followed by a day of rafting on the incredible Lower or upper Naranjo.

After a good night rest and breakfast we will begin our second day running more continuos water that will most defenetly wake us up! We will continue our descent on the Naranjo river running class III and IV rapids all the way down to the bridge on the Pacific Coastal Highway, where our transport will be waiting to meet us and drive back to our shop.

What’s Your Adventure Level?

Adventure (Level)

For each of our trips, we’ve tried to provide an approximation of what adventure level (from easier to challenging) you should expect to encounter under typical circumstances. Many trips are suitable for reasonably-fit first-timers, but all our trips are made more enjoyable by a certain degree of personal fitness and an adventurous spirit.

Rating Levels for Whitewater Rapids

Standard (River Scale)

Choosing the right level of whitewater is the first step in making your whitewater rafting experience a success.

I
Class I
Swift current with riffles and small waves. Few obstacles, all obvious and easily avoided. Ideal for: Children aged four and older, first-timers, all adults.
m
II
Class II
Easy rapids with wide-open channels and medium-sized waves. Some maneuvering may be necessary to avoid obstacles. Generally, children four years and older may experience Class II rapids. Ideal for: Children aged four and older, first-timers, all adults.
m
III
Class III
Moderate rapids with irregular, medium- to large-sized waves. Waves large enough to cause a boat to capsize may be present but normally can be avoided. Quick maneuvering may be required to avoid obstacles. Generally, children seven years and older may experience Class III rapids. Ideal for: Children aged seven and older, beginners to intermediates looking for manageable thrills.
m
IV
Class IV
Powerful rapids featuring boulder gardens, large waves and/or small waterfalls. Quick and precise maneuvering is essential for successful runs. Prior Class III experience is recommended, although aggressive first-timers looking for a challenge are generally accepted. Minimum ages will generally vary from 12 to 16 years. Ideal for: Adventurous individuals, intermediates or aggressive beginners looking for a challenge.
m
V
Class V
Intense and violent rapids with steep drops, waterfalls, massive waves and extremely constricted channels. Rapids may require “critical” maneuvering above dangerous hazards.
